Gorgeous bro and his big sister!

This gorgeous bro and his big sister are such little cutie pies and I was lucky enough to photograph them yesterday! It was a bit of an impromptu shoot and I was glad I’d grabbed my camera bag as I walked out the door to a BBQ with friends.

I’d been unpacking all my old gear and found a stash of lenses I’d forgotten I’d had and was looking forward to playing around with them :) The one thing that’s always served me well over the years (and before my hiatus) was to always have my camera on hand and to photograph as often as I could. The great thing about shooting off-the-cuff as it were, is that it’s not a “planned” shoot, so you don’t have clients who are prepared for sitting and posing etc. You get what you can, when you can, if you’re lucky. And if you’re lucky, you’ll have subjects who will be in the right spot at the right time for a great shot or two. Of course you’ll have a good few shots that are going in the trashcan and that’s okay! It’s all about learning and using every opportunity to do so. If you can manage a great shot or two and (very NB) learn from these moments, then you’re half-way there to being a better photographer :)
