I met Ashleigh a few years ago through friends. They’d arrived from Italy with their teeny tiny baby, Leo and made their home here in Brisbane. Since then we’ve had countless parties, luncheons, camping trips and get togethers. It was a lovely surprise to learn that they were expecting their second baby (due end June!) and all her friends were keen to help organise a baby shower – something she hadn’t had first time round in Italy.

I’m so pleased I managed to get a few shots of her before the party was fully underway. I had visions in my head about the shots I wanted to capture when I looked around the (familiar) location with new eyes, checking the light in a new way. I think I achieved what I was after in some of these shots.
