About your portrait session

I’m a natural light photographer, so your portrait session will preferably be conducted at an outdoor location we choose. In some instances the session may be conducted in the comfort of your own home – provided there is good natural light to work with, so I’m able to capture the most natural images for your gallery :) Morning or late afternoon/early evening light works best, but this is flexible depending on the type of shoot. Should inclement weather postpone an outdoor shoot, I will reschedule as quickly as possible. I try to make the session relaxed and fun and love catching candid shots and interactions between the various family members. Attention spans of little ones are short, so a break or snack might be required to keep the little ones happy and to capture those awesome shots.

Once a booking date has been confirmed, you’ll receive an invoice for the booking fee as well as a Model Release Form to sign. Signing the form means you understand that any images from your session may be used for marketing purposes, online or elsewhere by Gillian Foley Photography.

What to Wear

When choosing clothing for your session, simple is best. Solid polo or tee shirts with jeans or shorts are nice for boys and simple dresses are always cute on little girls. Try to avoid busy patterns, graphics or logos, but bright colors and hats are lots of fun. For groups, colors that complement each other, but aren’t necessarily the same, work well. Locations

Take a look at the list of my preferred locations. These are places I’ve shot at over the years and are within the Brisbane/Ipswich region. I love these spots because I know the light and the various scenic spots for a varied shoot. You’ll find more information here.

After your session

Proofing and uploading a gallery for a typical 1-2 hour shoot is usually within 2 weeks. You’ll then receive an email from me with a link to a password-protected gallery for you to peruse and share if you wish.
